MYP - PROJECTS

In year 4 students complete a Community project which focuses on community and service, encouraging students to explore civic responsibility and to implement service as action in the community. This project helps students to develop awareness of the needs in various communities and address those needs through service learning. The community project can completed individually or collaboratively in groups.

In year 5 the students complete, as part of their final assessment, a Personal project. This project is a student-centered and age-appropriate practical exploration through a cycle of inquiry, action and reflection, which allows them to consolidate what they have learned throughout the programme. It is a long-term project is designed as an independent learning experience of approximately 25 hours and is externally moderated by the IB.

The personal project is a core aspect of the IB Middle Years Programme and represents a significant milestone in the students' journey. It provides the MYP5 group with the opportunity to explore a topic that really interests them, developing their skills of independent thinking, communication, self-management and research. The personal project can be one of the most rewarding aspects of the MYP, providing the learners with skills that ensure they succeed in their future studies.
